A little about this image: I'm continuing to try out new things with my Project 365. Here's a new skill I have been working on. It's called "panning". I tried to follow Aubrey while she was moving with a really slow shutter speed...all while hoping to maintain focus. I wanted to capture motion. I think it's kinda cool:)

As I have entered into a new month, my theme challenge has changed too. This month is dappled little---uneven, speckled light. In most cases, I run from this type of light....but so far...its been fun playing with it.
57/365 So sweet seeing Syd at dance chatting about her favorite types of dance during "share time".
58/365 The sun is out! Yay! And look....I found some dappled light.
59/365 Nothing like a good sunset.
60/365 I found some more dappled light! Aubrey looks so grown up here....what has happened to my baby!
61/365 Her show is quite funny!
62/365--It's official....Spring break!!!!!!
63/365 A beautiful day for an Easter Egg hunt in the "Hood"!
64/365 Happy Easter! Sydney loves watching the ducks and geese at Grandmommy and Granddaddy's house!
Ohhhhh the light! Dappled light at the grandparents house was fun!
51/365 Well, here we go again...back to the doctor. I can always gage how she feels...by Nemo. If she's scared (or not feeling well), he always comes with her and keeps her safe.
Dianosis---Bronchitis
52/365--Nope she's not mine....but she loves to visit daily.
53/365 It was "Wacky Wednesday" at school....so Aubrey decided to embrace it! I just love it when she's not "too grown up" to be silly!
Could not leave this one out!
54/365--Field trips are fun! The Museum of Fine Arts was amazing! Syd was learning about China and Ancient Egypt!
55/365 My mornings are the BEST! Hysterical!
Dance show day ---so proud of how far she's come!
56/365 My girls helping their Grandmommy and Granddaddy in the food panty.
Sleep overs are the best...especially when they are a first!
44/365 Yep, she's a clown! Can you tell we went to the circus recently?!
45/365 Life of a 5th grader....
46/365 Hmmm...a little somber....so unlike her:(
47/365 Cookies are in! Now to sort!
48/365 A little spring
49/365 This makes me happy.
50/365 sigh.....sickness will not leave us. We are so tired of it all. Now my youngest is down.....and a simple cold...is never too simple for her. With her heart defect...things just hit her hard.
36/365--The girls were so excited to participate in the first annual father/daughter derby race. Sydney is Nemo (of course), and Aubrey is Batman!
37/365 Finally....some sun!
38/365 Sydney 2nd grade "Temples and Tombs" performance!
39/395 Ummm...Syd....it's empty.
40/365 Spring is coming!
41/365 Playing with freelensing--kinda cool.
41/365 Now for a regular shot...and she's hamming it up!
42/365 The circus! This was so much fun! Aubrey took as many picture as I did too!
43/365 Sickness....sigh
This months challenge is "side light", so I will be playing with this throughout the month! It's been a cold, wet week..and we have been stuck inside. I'm sooooo ready for some sunshine, and outside time!
29/395 Side light- Aubrey was "cheesing it up" for the camera!
30/365 And she sleeps......
31/365 Yeah..."word"!
32/365 Yep, she's trying to sneak some icing. LOL!
33/365 The kids were playing with their "Beanie Boos"....a popular thing around here....and had lined their animals up perfectly. I went to take a picture...and they happily jumped in! They look like part of the "herd".-----Or----- Like ET hiding in the animals (I might be showing my age on this comment!)! Ha!
33/365 Aubrey's playing photographer! Her pictures turned out fabulous!
34/365 Taxes...sigh
35/365 Well this was hard. Self portrait...side light.
36/365 Sidelight--She asked the "Magic 8 Ball" if it was going to snow tomorrow! It better not!!
I have been enjoying Project 365....taking a picture every day. It has really challenged me to think outside of the box. Last month, the 365 month challenge was low light.... really low light. I was excited and honored to have one of my low light images featured on Erin Hensley Photography website/blog! She is one of my favs... and her recognition was exciting!

23/365 Silly girl!
24/365 Playing with double exposures. This is two picture taken together in camera. I like how Aubrey's silhouette was filled in with the the bush image.
25/365 They are serious about being "Rock stars"! Look at that passion! Lol!
26/365 Another snow day! Time for the "big hill"!
26/365 Soaking the warmth up from the sun...after a snowy day of play.
27/365 Costco has never been so entertaining!
28/365 The girls are working on "derby cars" with their Dad for the girl scouts!

Day 13--Low light--Evening "Dream box" homework
Day 14--Afternoon play
Day 14--Happy Valentines Day
This is a project I have been wanting to do for years! A real challenge ...one picture every day for a year. I thought this was a good opportunity to try new things....like different lighting, techniques, carrying my camera EVERYWHERE, and most of all documenting the little special things in my life. I had planned to start in January, but my oldest daughter got a concussion...and like most people...family always come first (and projects wait). Now that my "big" girl is better, I can let the new adventure begin.
Day 1--Low light
The silliness of my girls, when they think no one is watching.
Day 2
I love watching my oldest waiting to ask for donations towards a Girl Scout project.
Day 3
Just wishing it was spring.....still no signs.
Day 4--Low light/back light
Its not everyday she acts like the kid she is.....
Day 5
Recover is a process. Off to physical therapy.
Day 6--Low light
Morning lego play....a fav around here.
Day 7--Low light
Just Chillin'
Meet the Doctor in the house!!

Sometimes family pictures include the family's ideas! LOL!
]]>
One of my favorite childhood memories was of my mom teaching me how to fly "June Bugs". I am now passing on the tradition.
]]>
]]>
I love this picture!! It has very deep meaning to the whole family. It represents all of the people who will love and support this little angel...because, "You are already so loved".
Mom and Dad were so cute....they loved "posing it up"...and I embraced their ideas. Cute huh?! I think so!
Nothing completes a day better than "showering" the new mom-to-be and dad with gifts for the baby!
]]>
I am so proud of my Sydney, and all of her friends! I felt the need to brag on them a bit!
Go Syd!!
Yep....I'm proud!!

She is difficult....opinionated... squirmy...hard to please....and frankly, a little camera shy. What client would I EVER talk like this about...... Yep...I'm talking about myself. I have heard myself on countless occasions encouraging people to get in pictures! Whether its head shots for work, family sessions, or just a quick snap with your phone. Just do it! Your loved ones will LOVE looking back at YOU for years to come. So, I asked myself, then why am I so reluctant? You know what? I don't really have an answer. So I decide it was time to challenge myself....with "insert drum roll please"..... self portraits.
So....I tried the "classic" head shot.....
Then I decided, I needed to relax.....
But I think I finally captured me...as me in this one. What do you think? Also Color......?
Or black and white?

If you are looking for headshots, or some updated images for your website...then you should consider one of these packages.
I love to capture real life while it happens. It's kind of like stealing tiny moments...and freezing them... so they are never forgotten. This picture is a little bittersweet for me. Our best friends---really,more like family---had just moved far away. We , myself included, were heart broken. In this picture, my 7 and 10 year old girls were face timing their best friends after they arrived at their new home.
This Mama is grateful for technology!! # Alabamaisonlyatextaway
